My first flight..
Need time to recall..
Long time ago..
More than a year ago..
We have finish our DCAT examination..
The academy attach us to the hangar..
They introduce us to flying face..
First to all my batch mate..
The operation set us for the first sortie..
All of us feel so excited..
This our first flight since entering this school..
This is the moment that we have been waiting for a long time..
To fly..
This is the aim rite??
Enter flying academy, of course to fly..
My first sortie on 17 March 2009..
We call the first sortie is famil..
The aim is want to introduce the student with the aircraft and to the training area..
The Operation separate us to different instructor..
And me, with Captain Sadick..
His callsign at that time is APAC 21..
Before the flight, the instructor will brief us roughly about what we want to do on our flight that day..
Then, ready to fly..
I bring my headset, my license and my map..
I check the aircraft, assist by the instructor..
After complete the inspection, time to enter the aircraft..
I take the left seat and the instructor on the right side..
In an aeroplane, the captain or PIC (Pilot In Command) take the right seat..
He's the one who got the full authority of controlling the aircraft..
Now, I'm sitting at the right side..
Once again..
Is it I said on the right side??
Yah, on the right side..
I'm the PIC..
But, I know nothing..
Why I have to seat here..
The instructor ask me to do the pre start..
And he assist me..
Then, he do the radio call..
And he start the aircraft..
I do the check after that..
After all completed, he call the ground..
ATC : APAC 21, taxi initially holding point Charlie contact tower..
Instructor : Taxi initially holding point Charlie contact tower, APAC 21..
"Okay, now I want you to taxi the aircraft.. Use the differential braking," he says to me..
"Oo.. Ok sir.. I try my best sir," I reply to him..
"You cannot try, you have to do it.. Put power a little bit, after aircraft start moving, use your brake ok??" he instruct me..
"Oo.. Ok sir.. I try my best sir," I reply to him..

"Yes sir," I acknowledge..
And then I taxi the aircraft to the holding point..
Its quite hard to control the aircraft since this is the first time I handle this aircraft..
But, its amazing..
Eventhough I taxi the aircraft like "snake" that been hit by baseball stick..
Going to the right, and then left, and then right..
And nearly into the grass..
Hah..
But..
Still ok I think..
And then at holding point Charlie, he have the control..
Instructor : Tower, APAC 21 at holding point Charlie, Good Morning..
ATC : APAC 21 backtrack lineup runway 10..
Instructor : Backtrack lineup runway 10, APAC 21..
We enter the runway..
The first thing came in my mind, the runway is so wide..
And at the moment I feel little bit afraid..
And at the same time feel amazing..
Before this I just see it from far..
Now I'm here, at the middle of the runway..
Instructor : Tower, APAC 21 is ready on line up..
ATC : APAC 21, climb 1000, right turn to Bachok, clear for take-off..
Instructor : Climb 1000, right turn to Bachok, clear for take-off, APAC 21..
ATC : APAC 21, climb 1000, right turn to Bachok, clear for take-off..

This is the moment..
He put the throttle to full..
And then the aircraft start moving..
It become faster and faster..
He control the aircraft gently and I follow him through..
The aircraft start to "jump", like a child who got the new toy..
How excited the child is..
Remember, it is light aircraft..
Easy to being effected by the wind..
At 55 knots, he pull the control stick little bit..
And the aircraft, airbone..
Now I feel sick..
The aircraft vibrating..
I feel afraid..
But I dont know why my instructor still control his "macho"..
Is it he dont feel what I feel??
Oh, now I know..
This is the normal thing..
He have flew for a thousand hours..
One thing came on my mind..
"Ya Allah, this is amazing.."
We proceed to Bachok..
He ask me to have a look to on the map..
He show me the training area..
I said to myself..
"I'm lucky, to be choosen by the God, to be here.."
Now I can see the ground from the sky..
I can see everything..
Its so small from 2000 feet above ground level..
The house, the road, the car and also the people down there..
How amazing..
And the view from up here, so nice n fantastic..
Hard to describe by word..
What I can say, Allah Is Almighty..
And then, the instructor request to the tower for rejoining..
The tower ask us to proceed to KB town and report there..
"Okay, now I want you to have control.. Put your leg on the rudder, right hand on the control stick and your left hand on the throttle.. You have control.."
" I have control sir," I said..
"You realize or not, that now you fly the aircraft yourself.. You see my hand, free from the control.. You are the one who have the authority now.."
"Oh.. Yes sir," thats all I can say..
" I have control sir," I said..

Overhead KB town, he have the control and I just follow him through..
This is the most critical part in flying..
Because, everyone can take-off the aircraft but not everyone can land the aircraft..
Its hard..
But I just follow him through..
Instructor : APAC 21, turning final to land..
Tower : APAC 21, advice wind light and variable, clear to land..
Instructor : Clear to land APAC 21..
He land the aircraft..
Quite smooth for this type of aircraft..
Nice landing..
He taxi to the apron and shutdown..
"Put your FTR (Flight Training Record) on my table.."
"Yes sir.. And nice flying sir"..
He smile to me..
He open the canopy, and he just walk away..
I take time, to appreaciate, and to think what I have done today..
Finally, I'm a flyers..
Praise to the God..
Now, I feel so tired..
I want to go home n have a nice sleep..
Of course on the ground, not on the air..
And hope someday, I will fly again..
